ZINC: EFFECTS AGAINST VIRUSES
- ZINC has proven to be effective in stopping viral replication (reproduction/growth).
- Chloroquine increases the ability of placing ZINC into the cells.
- Vegetable (plant) based sources of ZINC are more easily assimilated into the cell structure than “ionic” based laboratory produced supplements.
- ZINC can easily be eliminated from the body through sweating from excessive exercise. This is primary cause for increased mortality among young athletes today. ZINC is often ignored as a primary staple in nutritional regimes.
- Sources of ZINC:
- pumpkin seeds: one of highest sources, easily digested and many other benefits.
- meats: lamb is one of best sources
- beans/legumes: green lentils, kidney beans, chickpeas
- flax seeds, hemp seeds, sesame seeds: all very high in ZINC, must be in powder or paste form to achieve maximum benefits.
- spinach: raw only. Cooked spinach depletes the body of vital minerals, primarily Calcium (Ca++). In raw spinach, calcium is very high, but when cooked....oxalic acid is released, which will precipitate calcium from the body.
